Welcome to Asso! While Shin Chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation is primarily a relaxing, stress-free "healing game," it still features internal economies, story progression, and map unlocks. If you want to experience the whole story, unlock every corner of the town, and avoid feeling stuck, you need to know how to optimize the five-year-old’s daily routine.
Here is your ultimate starter guide to managing your energy, getting rich quick, and mastering the endless summer.
The most important concept for beginners to grasp is the time loop. The game's subtitle is The Endless Seven-Day Journey. When your first week in Asso ends, the eccentric Professor resets the timeline, and you start over at Day 1.
Do not stress about running out of time. When the loop resets, you retain all your money, your encyclopedia progress (fish and bugs caught), your items, and the map areas you have already unlocked. You are never truly punished for taking it easy, so if you waste a whole day just fishing, your overall playthrough is not ruined.
Shin Chan is an energetic kid, but he runs on a strict calorie budget. At the top of the screen, you will see his stamina/hunger gauge. Running, swinging your net, and fishing deplete this bar. If it empties completely, Shin Chan will faint from hunger, and Hiroshi will carry him home, causing you to lose precious hours of daylight.
You will need Yen to buy snacks, dinosaur cards, and story-related items. Here is how to fill your pockets efficiently:
To "beat" the game, you need to unlock the entire map of Asso.
Eventually, the local kids will invite you to the secret base to fight in toy dinosaur battles.
If you want to play a highly optimized day in Asso, follow this schedule:
Follow this routine, keep your pockets full of snacks and bugs, and you will unlock all the secrets of Asso in no time. Enjoy your endless summer vacation!
